Garden Spells (Bantam Discovery)

This delightful little novel was a lot of fun. It’s a story about a family with special gifts and how they go about using them. Claire Waverley and her sister Sydney have to come to terms with each other after Sydney returns from a long absence. Sydney has always tried to escape her gift while Claire has accepted hers. The book could have been written better, but it didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the story. Read it to discover whether the sisters reunite, whether Claire decides she can be normal enough to have a meaningful relationship with a man, and whether Sydney can be accepting enough of her portion of the family gift to stay and fit into the little town she tried so desperately to escape years ago.
