The
Heaven Tree Trilogy (The Heaven Tree / The Green Branch
/ The Scarlet Seed) Book review by Tracey From what I have gathered these stories were written separately between 1960 and 1963, and later published together in one volume in 1993. I am unfamiliar with Ms. Pargeter, but the included list of her works is prolific. The story begins in 1200 in the Welsh Marches. Harry Talvace, son of a noble lord and his sidekick best buddy Adam are coming home from schooling at the Abby. They have learned the art of stone masonry, and Harry as a younger son can use this knowledge to earn a living. Much happens in the ensuing pages as Harry grows to adulthood and beyond the confines of the book. If I reveal any more it would spoil the story. What I will say is that my copy of the book is 899 pages long, but the story flew by as they do when there is always a new adventure around the next page. I loved the story and the characters that made it so interesting. I’m looking forward to obtaining more of Ms. Pargeters’ work. Tracey. Search our site:
