If I Gained the World. Linda Nichols. Bethany House. 2003.

Book review by Tracey
Yet another story about a woman’s loss and her ability to pick herself up and begin again. This time the woman is Lenore. Lenore has everything she thinks she’s ever wanted--the man, the child, and the home they have together. The only problem is her man isn’t interested in marrying her. When she finally has to be the one to ask him he evades the issue and hopes it will go away. Well, she goes away instead. It is the final blow to her self-esteem. On her journey Lenore also gets bitten hard by the religion bug. God is once again the catalyst that makes Lenore realize how strong she can be. Yet, the story is interesting and full despite the religious overtones throughout the book. Ms. Nichols is a smooth writer and the flow of the storyline is easy. Read this one to find out what happens to Lenore and her family over the course of about twenty years.
