The King's Daughter. A Novel of the First Tudor Queen (Rose of York)

Yet another Target selection. I think this is becoming a habit. This historical fiction novel imagined the life of Elizabeth of York, daughter of Edward IV of England and his queen, Elizabeth Woodville. I have only previously read about Elizabeth of York in reference to the end of her life so it was refreshing to imagine her as young girl, a teenager and a mother. She does happen to be the mother of Henry VIII and his siblings, all rulers or their consorts. Elizabeth of York’s marriage to Henry VII has historically been the mediating factor to the end of war in that era, so she has always been held in high esteem, however I have not read anything that defined this figurehead as a person. I enjoyed the historical facts woven throughout the story and the references to the other women in her life.
