The
Last Wife of Henry VIII: A Novel Book review by Tracey As an avid fan of everything Tudor, I found this to be a very entertaining work of fiction. Catherine Parr was Henry VIII.’s sixth and final spouse. She was the only one to survive him. Henry had a way of doing away with wives that couldn’t produce male children. Catherine Parr is famous just for surviving Henry, but not a lot is written about who she really was. This work of fiction was fun because it gave life to a stiff historical figure, humanizing her and her life in the shadow of one of England’s greatest monarchs. As with another book this season, when I finished this selection and attempted to shove it in the appropriate alphabetical slot in my bookcase, there was another book by the same author! I had already read the other, at least. I guess I’ll have to review that one too! Tracey. Search our site:
