Mr. Darcy's Daughters : A Novel. Elizabeth Aston.

Ms. Aston has written a lively romp of a story. It is another continuation of the novel Pride and Prejudice (Bantam Classics), by Jane Austen. This rendition concerns the Darcy’s daughters (the ones you didn’t know they had!), and what becomes of them as they enjoy a season in London amidst the Ton. Of course they all get into trouble with their reputations. Gossip abounds. How can all come out right? Read the book and see.

This is another Target selection. I admit I couldn’t keep myself from picking it up as I had read Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, which I had also purchased there. Mr. and Mrs. Darcy have apparently been blessed with five female offspring. The main character is Camilla Darcy, the second oldest sister. Each girl has her own personality and the drama caused by it.

There are a lot of stuffy notions pertaining to the time period. The girls don’t always fall into line with convention. Their male protector is made to look quite ridiculous. They lead their elders and each other on a merry little chase. It was a lot of fun to read, and full of action. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys this time period. Even if you are not familiar with Pride and Prejudice (Bantam Classics), it will still be enjoyable.
